The Black Diamond Dinner continues Foote's exploration of art as a temporary world in which guests can immerse themselves. At a secret Hong Kong location, hand-sculpted diamond furniture, gold mirrored sculptures and carefully placed lighting form an installation that guests inhabit throughout the evening.
Foote has conceived the work and made its tables, lights, seats and tableware. The diamond becomes both a sculptural form and a way of considering nature, transformation and value. These ideas move between the objects around you and the food before you, inviting connections between the raw and the refined, the natural world and human invention.
As objects are handled, food is eaten and conversations unfold, guests become part of the work.
An evening that blurs the lines between art, design and food. Enter a sculptural world conceived by artist, designer and chef Ryan L Foote, where handmade objects, reflected light and a ten-course menu become parts of a shared experience.

The artwork continues on the plate
A ten-course menu developed by Foote and chef Farzam Fallah explores flavour, texture and presentation. Served on Foote's diamond-inspired ceramics, each course carries the sculptural language of the installation onto the plate.
Ryan introduces the artwork at the beginning of the evening, before he and Farzam take turns presenting their dishes. Their introductions offer a personal way into the ideas behind the work, leaving space for each guest to discover its layers in their own way.
Drinks are paired with the menu, with non-alcoholic options available.

About Ryan L Foote
Artist, Designer, and chef Ryan L Foote works across sculpture, installation, ceramics and food. His immersive artworks create social spaces in which guests encounter art through the senses and through one another.
This practice gave rise to Chocolates by Ryan L Foote in Hong Kong and R L Foote Design Studio in Melbourne.
Both businesses continue to inform his artworks, connecting his explorations of form, material and taste with the objects and food at the heart of the experience.
